Former FBI lawyer Lisa Page to be interviewed by Congress this week

After Blowing Off Subpoena FBI Lawyer Lisa Page Will Testify to Congress Friday

The ex-agent has since argued that his feelings about President Donald Trump did not taint his work.

"It felt like a public lynching", Dana Perino, a Fox News Host and a former White House press secretary under President George W Bush, said of the Republicans' interrogation of Strzok.

The Washington Post hailed Strzok as a tough talker whose commitment to the truth had gotten support from Democrats on the committees.

In breaking his silence at a day-long hearing, Strzok came face-to-face with Republicans who angrily argued that the texts had tainted two hugely consequential Federal Bureau of Investigation probes he had helped steer: inquiries into Hillary Clinton's email use and possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation.

Mueller removed Strzok from the Russian Federation investigation a year ago after learning of numerous rabidly anti-Trump and pro-Clinton text messages that Strzok traded with his then-lover Lisa Page, who was an FBI lawyer at the time.

"Strzok was a highly regarded agent with a very good reputation - but he had a secret", Vox wrote. California Rep. Darrell Issa made Strzok read out his own texts, including some with profane language and one that calls Trump a "disaster". Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., the Judiciary chairman, struggled to maintain control.

Surveillance video of the crash, apparently taken by a fixed security video, was obtained by the newspaper Corriere della Sera . George plays US Air Force commander Scheisskopf in the World War Two Channel 4 drama, based on Joseph Heller's classic novel.

"Would anyone sitting here today believe that this was an acceptable state of affairs, particularly at an agency whose motto is "Fidelity, Bravery and Integrity"?" I don't think. But you never know what happens.

In an exchange with Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of SC, chair of the House Oversight Committee, Strzok defended his "we'll stop" Trump text.

Strzok worked on the Russian Federation investigation, which the FBI started but that Mueller later took over.

"They behaved like children", Jolly said on MSNBC.

Judging Strzok also would have been Rep. Blake Farenthold, R-Texas, but he recently resigned after revelation of a taxpayer-funded sexual harassment settlement. A former Army officer, he said he thought Americans would reject Trump after his "horrible, disgusting behavior" attacking the parents of a fallen soldier.

He said Monday on "Fox and Friends": "They have to come to grips with the fact that they are investigating an innocent man. ..."

The boys remain in quarantine but some of their parents have been able to see their children through the glass. He said two of them possibly have a lung infection but all eight are generally "healthy and smiling".

"At no time, in any of those texts, did those personal beliefs ever enter into the realm of any action I took", Strzok said.

As I've written before, Page is a lesser figure in all of this both because she no longer works for the FBI and also because she wasn't in charge of the investigations in the same way as Strzok.

Page's lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment. "Mr. Chairman, Mr. Chairman, please", one said.

On the other are Republicans who see anti-Trump text messages Strzok sent to his lover as evidence of alarming bias at the highest levels of government.

In late 2017, ICIG Chuck McCullough - who was appointed by former President Barack Obama - took the unusual step of coming forward publicly to say that he perceived pushback after he began raising the alarm about issues with Clinton's servers to then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper reported Rosiak.
