Ireland Test off to dramatic start as Pakistan´s Imam injured first ball

People shelter from the rain as groundsmen work on the wet pitch at Malahide cricket club in Dublin as the start of play is delayed on the first day of the Test match between Ireland and Pakistan

Cricket Ireland is set to lose around £65,000 after their first day of Test cricket was abandoned without a ball bowled. Pakistan likely to play with the same squad.

But the 22-year-old left-hander, who hit a hundred on his one-day worldwide debut against Sri Lanka last year, has made fifties against both Kent and Northamptonshire in Pakistan's two warm-up matches ahead of this one-off Test.

Ireland were awarded Test status a year ago by the ICC and it was confirmed in October that Pakistan would be the first opponents for the new boys.

EU says committed to Iran nuclear deal, will not reimpose sanctions
Even close allies in the European Union are signaling frustration with Trump's decision. Trump has to decide by May 12 whether to bring back sanctions against the country.

And off the next ball, Murtagh trapped Imam-ul-Haq with an inswinger.

But he recovered and faced his first ball, the second of the match, from Murtagh with Imam, who had had a cold press applied to the back of his neck, playing and missing before he saw out the remainder of the over at a sunny Malahide. The hosts got off to a bright start as they reduced Pakistan to 13 for 2 after 8.1 overs.

Both physios attended him, with Ireland's Ciaran O'Reilly assisting his Pakistan counterpart.

But earlier in the day Ireland had rattled Pakistan's top order with nagging lines and lengths from Tim Murtagh, Boyd Rankin and Stuart Thompson.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan shows off its taillights
The taillight is pretty similar to the new Phantom's , in that there's a ring of light surrounding a darker middle portion. A key feature of the Cullinan ride is called the "Magic Carpet Ride" which Rolls-Royce takes off-road for the first time.

After the first hour, Pakistan were 22 for two, but they enjoyed a far better second hour as Haris and Asad Shafiq upped the scoring rate, putting on 54 runs as the pitch showed that any help for the bowlers will be minimal.

With that, Rankin had captured the first-ever Test wicket for Ireland and wrote himself into the history books.

Haris would have been run out if Stuart Thompson's throw at the stumps had hit, but Pakistan's third-wicket pair eventually started to settle in.

Shafiq is the class act of this Pakistan batting line-up and he moved past his half-century and had moved on to 62 before he played a poor pull shot to a short ball from Rankin, with Andrew Balbirnie taking the catch at square leg to leave Pakistan on 153 for five. That all changed after lunch though as the visitors lost four wickets in the second session of the day.

Pogba is staying at Manchester United - Mourinho
However, there's one player that the Portuguese is desperate to keep a hold although it appears his mind is not set for changing. He has made just one league appearance this season as his playing career winds down but will be afforded one last home outing.
