Trump to 'get together in the not too distant future' with Putin

Trump yet to officially respond to Putin victory

A number of Republicans criticized Trump for making the call, including Senator Mitch McConnell, who said that there was a "lack of credibility" in the election result.

The White House declined to say if the Trump administration believed the Russian election was free and fair.

Trump's comments drew significant criticism among USA politicians, including by Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain and others for calling Putin on Tuesday to congratulate him for his re-election.

Trump's national security team had told Trump not to congratulate Putin on winning a fourth term during a phone call on Tuesday, even placing a section in his briefing materials that read "DO NOT CONGRATULATE" in all-capital letters, according to the Post.

The British government has blamed Moscow for the attack with a military-grade nerve agent.

"We don't get to dictate how our countries operate, " Sanders said.

Welcome drop in inflation as Brexit impact fades
There are signs that the Brexit hit to prices has peaked, however, though the BoE expects a residual impact to last years. The fact that Easter is early this year could push inflation back up again in March.

Crises in Syria and Ukraine were also discussed.

The former USA presidential candidate John McCain was quick to criticize Trump for his failure to raise allegations of widespread voter irregularities. According to the latest update of the Russian Central Election Commission, incumbent President Vladimir Putin is scoring 76.6% of the vote.

McCain has previously called Putin a murderer and a thug.

Sanders also claimed that Russian interference in the U.S. election "didn't come up" during Trump's call with Putin, nor was discussed the poisoning in the UK.

Mr. Trump said they will likely get together in the not-too distant future to discuss the arms race, which Mr. Trump said is getting out of control.

"I had a call with President Putin and congratulated him on the victory, his electoral victory". The election was tainted by reports of voting irregularities.

Eriksen double sends Spurs into FA Cup semis
But Tottenham were unruffled and quickly settled into a tempo that had the home side outnumbered and second best in midfield. Spurs were 1-0 up in their FA Cup quarter-final when Heung-Min Son had a 23rd-minute goal ruled out for offside.

"The two leaders spoke out in favor of developing practical cooperation in various areas, including in ensuring strategic stability and combating worldwide terrorism".

Mr. Trump's congratulatory call comes after the USA and other ally nations have condemned Russian Federation over a suspected nerve gas attack in London. Trump didn't bring up the sanctions or Russia's election interference in the call, nor did he raise a nerve-gas attack on a former Russia spy in Salisbury, England, that the United Kingdom has blamed on the Russian government, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian news agencies separately that Putin and Trump had not discussed the poisoning of former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Britain.

Trump praised Putin and called repeatedly for better ties with Russian Federation during his campaign, but relations have remained tense.

Later, at her daily press briefing, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders defended the president's handling of the call.

"Special attention was given to considering the issue of a possible bilateral summit", the Kremlin statement said. Putin's main opponent was not allowed to run, and there were rampant allegations of ballot stuffing to pad Putin's margin of victory.
