United Nations official says not safe yet for Rohingya return to Myanmar

President Rodrigo Duterte said he told Daw Aung San Suu Kyi to ignore human rights activists, describing them as a "noisy bunch".

Richardson, a former Clinton administration cabinet member, quit as the 10-member advisory board was making its first visit to western Rakhine State, from which almost 700,000 Rohingyahave fled in recent months.

"In view of the difference of opinion that developed, the government decided that his continued participation on the (advisory) board would not be the best interest of all concerned", the statement said.Prior to that statement, a spokesman for Suu Kyi told CNN "we are very sorry about Mr Richardson's resignation".

Richardson said Suu Kyi appeared to want the 10-member global advisory group, one in a string of Rohingya commissions set up by the Myanmar government, to endorse her policies.

Kingdom Holding shares surge on Prince Alwaleed's release
Alwaleed told Reuters on Saturday that there were "no charges" against him and that he was in discussions with the government. Prince Alwaleed told Reuters he was continuing to maintain his innocence of any corruption in talks with authorities.

Until this week, Richardson was on a board tasked with implementing the recommendations of a commission helmed by former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan.

Richardson said Suu Kyi's response at a Monday night dinner was "furious" when he brought up the case of two Reuters reporters, who were arrested on December 12 on suspicion of violating Myanmar's Official Secrets Act.

The board nominees conducted a meeting with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on January 22.

In a statement late on Thursday, the board said Former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, who is a long-time friend of Aung San Suu Kyi, had to be asked to leave the body. It had made recommendations for more press freedom, he said.

Mumbai MRI death: Metal inside an MRI room is a unsafe combination
MRI scanners use strong magnetic fields, electric field gradients, and radio waves to generate images of the organs in the body. According to Maru's brother-in-law, Harish Solanki, the deceased had gone to visit his mother who was admitted to the hospital.

Reuters reporters Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe, who both covered the Rohingya crisis extensively from within the country, were taken into custody in December for allegedly intending "to send important security documents regarding security forces in Rakhine State to foreign agencies overseas", according to Myanmar's information ministry.

Veteran U.S. diplomat and former New Mexico Gov. abruptly resigned on Wednesday from an worldwide panel established to advise Myanmar on its explosive, decrying the country's lack of "moral leadership" in a scornful letter.

Aung San Suu Kyi's reputation as a human rights icon has been severely tarnished after her response to the Rohingya crisis. Almost 690,000 Rohingya have fled a Myanmar army crackdown and crossed over to Bangladesh in recent months. Inside Myanmar the Rohingya are widely regarded as illegal immigrants from Bangladesh even though many have lived there for generations.

Organized by the government, the advisory board visited Rakhine state on Wednesday, where they were shown the preparation work on acceptance of refugees returning from Bangladesh.

Joe McKnight killer found guilty by jury
The confrontation ended at an intersection, where McKnight exited his vehicle , approached Gasser's passenger window and was shot. Prosecutors told jurors Friday that the evidence shows Gasser angrily pursued McKnight and shot him from inside his own auto .

Aaron Connelly from the Lowy Institute for International Policy told AFP that the description of the conversation between Richardson and Suu Kyi should "finally dispel the myth that she privately holds views which she can not express publicly". "I just felt that my advice and counsel would not be heeded".
