4 arrested for playing Pak anthem in cricket match

The Kashmiri youths wearing green jerseys were arrested for honouring Pakistan

Two cricket teams of Indian held Kashmir have been booked and several players were reportedly detained for standing in honour of Pakistan's national anthem being played before the start of a match in north Kashmir's Bandipora district.

The video that popped up on Facebook on Saturday showed two cricket teams lined up on the pitch before the start of a match.

The latest incident happened at the finals of a local tournament in Arin, Bandipora.

The stadium where the incident took place seems to be a local ground situated among hillocks. "We have arrested four people", Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, senior superintendent of police, Bandipora, told DNA. Officers said they were looking for 22 others who had participated in the game, including two government officials. The match was being played between Gondipora and Dardpora Cricket Club. The police has registered a case against two cricket teams for singing Pakistan's national anthem. According to media reports, after watching a video being viral on social media, the police filed a case against the players and arrested four out of them.
