Smiley slammed PBS' "sloppy investigation" and accused the network of overreacting. Indeed, I learned more about these allegations reading the Variety story than the PBS investigator shared with me, the accused, in our 3 hour face to face meeting. In a bombshell announcement that broke on our sister site Variety on December 13, it read "Effective today, PBS has indefinitely suspended distribution of Tavis Smiley, produced by TS Media, an independent production company", the public broadcaster said. And, I, for one, intend to fight back. "Look at her, she's so stupid", he tells me, during our stop over from NY to Bismarck at Chick-fil-A in the Minneapolis airport Delta terminal after Blanca had left us at the counter and walked toward the gate.
